I’m Going to See Josh Groban, Again.

This entry was originally published at Every Tomorrow

I guess the dates for the second leg of Josh Groban’s American tour were released sometime recently when I wasn’t paying attention. Fortunately, my mother was. She found out that he was coming back to Manchester on July 27th and that fan club tickets went on sale today and that normal pre-sale is tomorrow. Armed with the knowledge that Josh’s Drupally website likes to crash on the normal pre-sale day, my mother paid the money to join the fan club and then bought tickets this morning.

I guess I have three months to memorize the songs on the new album.

Achoo!

This entry was originally published at Every Tomorrow

Well, spring or something like it must be here…. I have spent the entire day absolutely miserable because of my allergies… Granted, my allergies have been acting up since the Nor’easter last week when we got all that rain and one of our living room windows leaked… Some trapped pollen in the building managed to make it’s way into our apartment with the water. Fortunately, that was the worst of it. The only thing that got wet was the base of our fan, which was easy enough to clean off. My throat has been absolutely horrible the past few days. It’s just all scratchy and sore. It’s not bad enough to prompt any immediate action… I have a physical scheduled for next week, so if it lasts that long, I guess I can complain, but otherwise I’m just hoping it’ll go away on it’s own and my allergies would just knock it off.

Which reminds me…. My health insurance company sent me the annoying letter and coupons they send every year recently… Every year around when spring is SUPPOSED to start, my insurance company sends out this letter which reminds me that there are, in fact, over the counter allergy medications and that it might be cheaper to switch to something OTC. This annoys me because it’s nothing more than a drug advertisement…. because usually only one OTC drug is endorsed in the letter with coupons attached. (In this case, it was Alavert). Thanks Insurance Company for blatantly being paid off to send an advertisement in the form of an important official letter.

Head is Spinning, Spinning

I don’t know what got into me, thinking that I could spin yarn. Maybe it was the gorgeous pictures of roving that people from Lime & Violet keep posting pictures of, or the pretty yarns they’ve hand spun… Maybe it was the egging on of my husband who kept bringing up that he learned to spin in high school… Maybe it was the fact that most of the pretty roving I kept seeing was less expensive than the yarn and I thought maybe it would be easier to spend a little time making the yarn before knitting it…

Nonetheless, I found myself at 6 PM in The Elegant Ewe looking to buy a drop spindle and roving…. We bought some unpainted roving to practice on and the most beautiful brown, black, blue and turquoise roving which I’m now deathly afraid to ever spin, a drop spindle and a ball winder and a swift (though those aren’t for spinning and I’m not sure whether I’ll even be able to use them yet because I don’t have a table to clamp them to).

Came home and ate dinner, and then started to try spinning…. I couldn’t get it started, Matt had to do it for me, all the while whining that it had been at least ten years and he didn’t remember how, his brain might not have but apparently his hands did. He tried to show me how to spin for two seconds, though it was quite obvious that Paper Mario was of greater concern. I sort of got the hang of it…. Sort of. In some places getting as thin as sock yarn, other places like bulky yarn…. I suppose I might have done okay for a beginner…. I know it takes practice…. but I think I’m going to try and find a class to take.

Upgraded.

This entry was originally published at Every Tomorrow

I finally upgraded to WordPress 2.1 after putting it off and putting it off…. Working in web development really doesn’t motivate you to work on your own site much… So, I’ve upgraded and changed themes… There are still a few bugs left to work out, but I think for the most part it’s functional. Yawn. Now I’m going to bed. ;)
